Healthy development means that children of all abilities, including those with special health care needs, are able to grow up where their social, emotional and educational needs are met. Having a safe and loving home and spending time with family―playing, singing, reading, and talking―are very important. Proper nutrition, exercise, and sleep also can make a big difference.

DIVERSITY EQUITY INCLUSION
Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is a term that describes how to promote and respect the differences and similarities among people in various settings, such as the workplace. Diversity involves all the ways that people are different, including characteristics like race, gender, religion, and ability. Equity is the concept of providing equal opportunities and resources to people based on their needs and circumstances, rather than treating everyone the same. Inclusion is the process of creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, valued, and supported. DEI is an umbrella term that combines these three related yet distinct concepts
